5 Good Yield Plays – According to Forbes
Over at Forbes.com, there is a very brief article that lists what they call 5 good yield plays. The stocks listed included Coca-Cola, Greif Brothers, Nu Skin Enterprises, PepsiCo, and Waste Management.
Before you rush out an snap up these stocks, make sure you read the first paragraph that lists the requirements to make the list – a dividend payout ratio of below 0.6 and a yield at least 2%. That’s it. Go forth and prosper.
Wait, don’t. That is not enough to evaluate a stock on and without sounding to egocentric, I hope investors don’t think it is. I would equate that to throwing a dart at the stock list in a newspaper and buying that stock. Given, no where in the article do they recommend these stocks as buys. I imagine their intention was to give investors a starting place from which to move on to further research. If you look at the other links on the page in the box right below the title, they list other stocks that are evaluated based on certain criteria. As a starting point this is fine, as full blown research it is not!
