Back in Black

Just checking over my portfolio this morning and I see that I am once again back in black after these tough few weeks or market performance. My portfolio is now showing that I am up 1.6% for the year which is above the Dow’s 0.1%.

To be honest however, I don’t think the tough times are over yet and this is just a pause. We are going to see more drastic swings like the ones we just had. I rarely try to guess what the market is doing but in this case I strongly believe that this will happen. There just seems to be too much uncertainly out in the market, people are still feeling weird about what is going one, and I think that is impacting the markets. The energy sector is still super volatile, and when headlines like these move the markets, “Oil above $62 after Britain says sailors detained by Iranian forces” I think we need to be cautious.

So, to sound like a totally broken record, I am just going to continue on like I always have and look for stocks that are a bit depressed. I actually am going through my watch list and developing updated buy prices as we speak and that should give me a basis on which to make some moves.
