RSP
|
Registered Retirement Savings Plan. A Registered Retirement Savings Plan or RRSP is a Canadian investment account that provides some tax benefits for saving for retirement in Canada. RRSP refers to a provision in the Income Tax Act that allows a person to shelter financial property from taxes.

A normal investment account.

Pension
|
My employers defined contribution pension account. I contribute 2% of my earnings to this account and my employer matches with 4%.

Employee Savings Plan

This account is not listed yet as I need to update my portfolio spreadsheet. This account is a non-registered account that I hold, which my employer and I deposit money into from payroll contributions. I contribute 5% of my earnings and my employer matches with another 5%.

I will be altering what I report to you in terms of my portfolio - I want to provide more transparency into how I manage my accounts. My plan is to provide a weekly synopsis of the transactions that have (or will) occur, including deposits.
