Dividends Received for April – $49.72
April is usually a pretty good month for me in terms of dividends received in my account. This year’s was really no different.
In total I received a total of $49.72 in dividends from the companies I own. Here is how it breaks down:
| Coca-Cola: | $10.91 |
|---|---|
| Merck & Co: | $15.02 |
| BCE: | $19.24 |
| General Electric: | $4.55 |
| General Electric: | $4.55 |
| General Electric: | $4.55 |
| TOTAL: | $49.72 |
Of course, due to my sale of Merck I will no longer be receiving those dividends, which I admit are substantial. However, I am looking for a strong company with good dividend growth and I do not believe Merck is that company. I know I can find something better that holds more promise in the future.
All of these dividends were reinvested back into the underlying security. Next dividend date, I should receive a higher payout due to the increase in shares that I have as a result of the reinvestment. That is what I love about this. With very little work, my income keeps going up.
