Stock Investing Boards and Forums to Learn From

investing-forum

Want a way to learn a lot about investing? It is not by reading more books or attending some crazy seminar put on by a stock broker (sales person). It is just doing more of what you are doing right now. I am talking about visiting and reading a number of the investing forums available on the web. I have been reading a number of forums for years and have learned a lot. In this post I will provide you with a list of the few investing forums that I visit and learn from on a regular basis. If there are other ones, please use the comment section or Twitter me with your additional suggestions. I know that a lot of my readers are very active participants in a number of these investing forums – thanks to each one of them! [ad#tdg-embedded]

The Bogleheads Investing Forum

This is an incredibly robust and information packed forum that is the home of the Bogleheads . It is full of asset allocation information as well as both general and very specific investing topics. Active investing is frowned upon, however there are people who combine a passive investing core philosophy with some active elements.

The Financial Webring Forum

The Financial Webring Forum is the place of discussion for the Do-It-Yourself Financial Webring. The Webring is an informal group of websites which promote individual financial education and empowerment. This, like the Bogleheads forum is a very robust forum with a tonne of information. The topics cover all aspects of investing, and is not as limited to passive investing as the Bogleheads forum is. For example, they have a specific section to discuss investing in individual stocks.

Canadian Business Discussion Forum

A discussion board focused primarily on the Canadian markets, I don’t visit this one as often as the above two. There is a good taxes section and the most active board is General Investing, where topics such as leveraged investing and asset allocation are debated.

Motley Fool Discussion Boards

The Motley Fool has really gone downhill in my opinion with their newsletters, hypocritical mutual fund, and aggressive sales tactics for their services. However, they have a very good selection of discussion boards where investors can learn and participate in. Some of the specific boards I like to visit regularily include Dividend Growth Investing, Drip Investing – Companies, Drip Investing – The Basics, Dynamic Value Investing, The BMW Method and specific company boards like Coca-Cola.

Those are the four that I visit on a regular basis. There are a lot of other ones out there – the Yahoo! message boards and Google Groups – both have a lot of participation, however they are not moderated like the above groups so you can get a lot of crazy stuff posted.

If you have other investment forums you visit regularly, please use the comment section to let us all know.

Hey I’m new and I guess this is as good a place as any to see if anyone knows of a good loss mitigation training course?

I keep hearing about people making tons of money becoming foreclosure consultants.
So, If you have any info or you have purchased a good course, please share. I’m retired and looking for a home based business that I can earn a decent income with.

    Thanks,

If you're stuck in debt and trying to get caught up, don't resort to payday loans. They almost always have high interest rates, so if you don't pay them back immediately you will just end up in even more debt. In these tough times, it's better just to learn how to be more frugal with your money.
