Weekly Roundup

It was a short week for some of use here. Remembrance Day was on Sunday so I had Monday off. I kept on blogging though and reading through the many blogs I have set up to populate Google Reader. Here are some of the articles I enjoyed from the week, as well as a list of the blog carnivals I participated in.

The Carnivals

1. Carnival of Personal Finance hosted by Million Dollar Journey - The 10 Most Important Things I have learned from Dividend Investing. P.S. Thanks for the Editor’s Choice on this one!

2. Carnival of Financial Planning hosted by The Skilled Investor - Incorporating Company Pension Plans into My Dividend Portfolio.

3. The Stock Market Carnival hosted by The Investor’s Journal - Favorite Dividend Stocks of The Dividend Guy Readers.

4. Carnival of Money Stories by BeingFrugal.Net - Dealing with a Falling Knife - Citigroup.

Other Cool Articles

Asset allocation is the most important consideration for any portfolio - even more important than stock selection. Jon at My Money Blog has a great series going on Choosing An Asset Allocation. In Step three he walks us through The Diversification Benefit Of Small and Value Stocks.

Tyler over at Dividend Money discusses taking advantage of weakness in the markets (i.e. the financial sector) and things to think about that may be holding you back. The post is titled When Opportunity Knocks…Will You Answer? - it is an important read.

The Street has an artcile on the The Top Dividend Stocks of the Week. The article references a Stockpickr! column that keeps track of dividend increases and reports on them regularly.

The Chicago Tribune presented an article titled, Dividends hold power, but chase at your own risk that covers the hit financial stocks have taken of late and how now may be a good time to bite.

Finally, if you just want to read about other dividend investors who are enjoying the benefits of investing in dividend stocks that consistently increase their dividends, then Financial Jungle has a post for you. Short and sweet, it covers a few of his stocks that have increased their dividends in the past year. Nice.
