Weekly Dividend Investing Roundup – November 9, 2007

Weekly Roundup

This has been a great week for posts about investing, with a couple that are focused entirely on dividends! I hope you enjoy these and thanks to the writers who took the time to write and post them.

The Carnivals Including The Dividend Guy Posts

1. My Two Dollars hosted The Carnival Of Personal Finance #125 which included my post on How I Involve My Family in Investing.

2. Stock Trading to Go also included my post on Dividend Stock Wednesday: SNC-Lavalin (CA:SNC).

The Other Cool Articles of the Week

1. Featuring the next Robert Kiyosaki, Money, Matter, and more Musing posted an awesome Illustrated Cash Flow For Dummies. It is personal finance 101.

2. Sun at The Sun’s Financial Diary posted a great look at international dividend paying stocks in the article titled, Dividend Beyond the Border.

3. There seems to be a lot of asset allocation posts out there right now. I think that makes sense in a falling, very turbulent market that we are seeing. My Money Blog kicked off a series of posts called Choosing An Asset Allocation. The first graph showing average return and standard deviation is very valuable – if you don’t read anything else (you should) just soak in that graph.

4. A blog from an investment firm who appears to focus on dividend stocks provided some insight into what is going on with financial stocks such as Bank of America and Citigroup. Donaldson Capital gave a good summary of dividend growth and feels that Bank of America will continue to grow. Citigroup is sportin’ a 6% dividend yield right now!

5. Want 10 dividend stock ideas for further research? Financial Jungle has posted his picks. It is focuses on Canadian stocks, but there are some good ones in there.

Disclaimer: I own shares in Bank of America and Citigroup.

Thanks FJ – glad to hear you like the new layout. I am currently going through another redesign as this one does not render very well across platforms (it is brutal in IE), more white space, etc. Look for that one soon!

Get Out of debt

If you're stuck in debt and trying to get caught up, don't resort to payday loans. They almost always have high interest rates, so if you don't pay them back immediately you will just end up in even more debt. In these tough times, it's better just to learn how to be more frugal with your money.
