Where to Get Financial Data

When analyzing a stock there is a ton of research available on the web that can really help. Last night I went through all the sites that I have used in the past and have listed some of them here. Keep in mind that there are a few sites that provide the same data – I use these different sites to try to verify the data that the web sites present. I have found inconsistent data in the past and seeing this has allowed me to dig a little further to get the real data.

Some of the sites I have uses in the past are:

Portals / Fundamental Research
MSN Money
Yahoo! Finance
CNN Money – Michael Sivy
Morningstar
GlobeInvestor
Value Line – Dow 30 Reports
Mergent Dividend Achiever

Screeners
The BMW Method
The BMW Method – Charts
Piotroski Scores
Dogs of the Dow

Dividend Specific Information
The DRIP Investing Research Resource Center
Dividend Growth
Dividend Based Investing

Forums
Moneysense Forums
The Financial Webring Forums
Vanguard Diehards Forum
Motley Fool

Newsletters
Canadian Moneysaver

Tools
BOC Exchange Rate Lookup
RiskGrades
A Primer for Canadian Do-It-Yourself Investors
Online Stock Valuation Service
The Coffeehouse Investor

General Investing Information
Stockhouse
Warren Buffet Secrets
Gummy Stuff
Better Investing
What Has Worked in Investing – OID

I know there are millions more out there, and some I have been too but forgot to record the bookmark. Oh well, if they are really good I will probably hear about them in a forum somewhere and visit that site again.

Get Out of debt

If you're stuck in debt and trying to get caught up, don't resort to payday loans. They almost always have high interest rates, so if you don't pay them back immediately you will just end up in even more debt. In these tough times, it's better just to learn how to be more frugal with your money.
